1. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use ClipTunes, we collect:

• Account information: your name, username, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) password
• Content you create: the playlists and clips you build — playlist names, YouTube video ids, clip trim times (start/end points), and any notes you add

ClipTunes does not host or store any video content. We store only references to YouTube videos (video ids and your chosen segment times).

2. YouTube Embeds

Playback on ClipTunes uses YouTube's embedded IFrame player. When you play a clip, YouTube and Google may set their own cookies and collect data about your viewing according to their own policies. ClipTunes does not control that data collection. See the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.

3. Cookies

ClipTunes itself uses only essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in and a CSRF token cookie to protect against cross-site request forgery. These are strictly necessary for the service to function and cannot be disabled. For usage statistics we rely on Umami, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool we self-host: it sets no cookies, stores no personal data, and does not track you across other sites. On ad-supported (free and signed-out) pages, our advertising partner Google may set its own cookies — see “Advertising” below. As noted above, the embedded YouTube player may also set its own third-party cookies during playback.

4. Advertising

ClipTunes is free to use and is supported by ads shown to signed-out visitors and free-plan users. Pro subscribers see no ads. We use Google AdSense to serve these ads.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to ClipTunes and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. We do not share the account information described above with Google for ad targeting.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of a third party's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. For more on how Google uses data when you use our site, see Google's partner-sites policy.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the service — storing and playing back the playlists you build
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Show your public and unlisted playlists to people you share them with

6. Emails

We send only transactional emails: account verification and password resets. We may also reply to feedback or support requests you send us. We do not send marketing email and we do not share your email address with third parties.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data and the playlists and clips you create for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information, playlists, and clips are removed from our systems.

8. Your Rights

You can exercise the following rights at any time:

• Access & correction: view and update your account information from your profile settings
• Export: you can export your data from your profile settings
• Deletion: delete your account and all associated data from your profile settings

9. Children's Privacy

ClipTunes is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.
